Project Details:
The Harrisonburg Bridge project consisted of construction of a new 3,275' concrete bridge which was built south of the existing bridge. The completed project reflects a 980' continuous unit with steel composite girders stretching across the Ouachita River. The portion of the bridge on either side of the river consists of 14" precast concrete piles, footings, columns, caps and precast pre-stressed concrete girders (BT - 72). There is approximately 20,000 cubic yards of concrete on this project. Including the bridge, we placed drainage structures, 18,000 yards of excavation, 52,000 yards of embankment, class II base course and asphalt pavement.
